We woke up to an incredible amount of smoke still lingering from the wildfires in Canada. We headed out of the creek and headed north for a short twenty mile journey to Catskill, NY for a night at the Hop-O-Nose Marina in the Catskill Creek.

Catskill, NY was first settled in 1680 and established in 1788.
We passed a few more old lighthouses and made the westward turn into the creek. Upon arrival we expected to be on the south side but we were redirected to the north side of the creek where we backed in to a shallow slip under a big oak tree. We arrived early giving us time to clean the boat and do some shopping. There was a Walmart and a Lowes about a mile and a half away, so we walked there but after deciding to plan an oil change at our next stop I bought 10 gallons of oil and we had to Uber back to the boat. We met up with our neighbors on “Bear Den” and went to dinner at New York Restaurant on Main Street. Catskill, NY.

The town has numerous cat statues called Cat’n Around Catskill which are artists rendition of felines which has been on display annually for 17 years.
Well, it was again time to hit the rack and get ready for our run to Shady Harbor Marina for the big Pig Roast event.
