Travel Day 25

After a great stay at Shady Harbor Marina it was time to move forward. We pushed off under windy conditions and rain and a rising tide. We were only traveling 13 miles to the Albany Yacht club for a 2 night stay so we were not in any rush to get ahead of anyone. The trip was uneventful until getting to the fuel dock The wind and current pusing us north made docking exciting. After a pump out and topping off our tanks we moved to our slip where we were instructed to go bow in facing north due to the debris that would be floating south as the tide and current changed. The yacht club is situated on the east side of the Hudson River with a tour about accross the channel. The boat traffic was light due to the weather with limited wakes. After settling in we were joined by Doug and Shari on Thistle for dinner at Illusive Restaurant and Bar just a few blocks away. Great little spot behind the police station.

The following day I made a Home Depot run on my bike which was up hill for 4 miles. It was a great workout but a strain on my 22″ bike. After returning Doug need some plumbing repair parts so we did another run to the Depot then a hardware store which turned into a 15 mile ride. The girls shopped for dinner so we ended up grilling at the marina with a few other boaters. Dinner was great and docktail’s were cold but it was time to wrap up for the day for another run tomorrow.
