After a rainy night it was time to move forward. We did not have a final destination but we would head out early for lock 11 and were joined by “Bodensee”. We traveled through five locks with very light traffic. The sky cleared and it turned into a beautiful day. The locks were adjoined by big dam walls making for great photo’s.

We decided to stop in Saint Johnsville where there was a little cut out from the canal with 5 openings along the wall. The St. Johnsville Municipal Marina wall was semi sheltered from river traffic situated next to a small campground. The dockmaster Tina was very helpful and we were able to get a pump-out and top off our fuel. The boat got a well needed bath and we were finally able to put out our deck chairs on the wall and relax.

We walked into the small town with Holger on “Bodensee” only to find everything closed except the Parkside Drive-In about one mile away. After a quick snack we walked back to the boat for light docktails and a nice quiet evening.
