It is now say two on the Ottawa River with “TNT Kiss”. we started out early as expected but my disembarkment didn’t end too well. We headed out towards the main channel and while we were in the marked channel I struck something on my starboard prop shuttering the boat. A quick assessment was made and there were no leaks and the props did not have any vibration. We decided to move forward and test the props as we traveled. As our buddy boat followed we put the boat up on plane at 2500 rpm’s and about 19 mph. There was no discernible vibration and both engines matched rpm’s. We were temporarily satisfied that there was no apparent damage so we continued west.
The countryside was as beautiful as the day before with farms and large homes. We passed the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello situated on the Quebec side of the river.

“The Château Montebello is located at 392 rue Notre Dame, in the western section of Montebello, Quebec, a municipality in the Outaouais region of the province. The road forms a part of Quebec Route 148, a provincial highway that connects Ottawa to Montreal. The roadway bisects the property, dividing it into two sections. The property south of rue Notre Dame contains the main buildings of the resort, whereas the section north of the road contains the resort’s golf course, and hiking trails. “

Along the way there were a few busy ferry crossings which we had to adjust speed to get by before they started moving. The ferry’s are cable driven and you don’t want to be within a 100 yards of the ferry when it is moving across the channel.

Our destination for today was the Rockcliffe Boathouse and Marina. The marina was on the southside of the river just east of the Rideau Falls. It was a cool little marina with a tiki hut style restaurant and bar. After settling in and inspecting the props via go-pro, I discovered the starboard prop did have a little damage but not enough tom effect the performance of the boat. I will inspect them when we get to swimmable water and I can physically touch the props.

We had a great dinner at the tiki bar and sat back on the boat for a well deserved docktail after a long day on the loop.
