It was a super early start for us followed by Beachside to make the 1st lock on the Trent Severn. We got there before it opened and were able to get through first. We traveled through 7 locks and laid up at the Percy Reach Lock for the night by 1500. The weather was good with light traffic on the waterway passing several small communities and some of the locks were followed by long canals that spilled into the river above the dams. All the locks were run manually by young lock hands who were grateful for our gifts of sweets. We stopped at Percy Reach lock for a quiet evening and beautiful sunset.
