Travel Day 71 De Tour Village

We were up at sunrise with a long run to De Tour Village for a total run of 68 NM. We ran with Jagger for the long trip that would take us north out of Gore Bay, around Barrie Island into the North Channel passing Manitoulin Island then south between Cockburn Island and Drummond Island. The wind was out of the north at about 20 knots so for the first half of the day we were getting it on the beam but once we turned south down False Deour Channel along the US and Canadian border we go a push before turning east on Lake Huron. at this point we were finally out of Canada where we met great people and made great new friends. While under way we were continually trying to confirm our entry into the US on the CBP Roam App to no avail. After turning north up the De Tour Passage and dodging ferry’s and cargo ships we finally made it back to US soil at the De Tour Harbor Marina where we fueled and pumped out at the cheapest price since Winter Harbor Marina in Brewerton, NY.

After securing our boat we walked downtown with Chuck and Sue from “Jagger”. Of course there was only one restaurant open at the De Tour Village in that was highly recommended for their burgers. It was a great locals bar with cold beer and a good burger. Since nothing was open it was back to the boat for a good night’s sleep after a nine hour run on the North Channel and Lake Huron.

Sorry no pictures for this leg.
